California Privacy Notice

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for California residents. AC Repair AC is a New York City-focused editorial publisher, not an HVAC service provider or lead seller. We publish consumer information about AC repair; we do not sell repair services or personal information.
Personal information we may collect
In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information from readers or their browsers: identifiers, such as an email address supplied for a newsletter or correspondence and an IP address in server logs; internet or network activity, such as pages requested, browser type, referring page, and interactions recorded by analytics when enabled; and professional or other information you choose to include in an email or contact-form message. We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation, government identifiers, payment data, health data, or sensitive personal information through ordinary use of this site.
We collect this information directly from you when you subscribe or contact us, and automatically from your browser or device when it connects to the site. We may receive information from service providers that help us host the site, send a newsletter, measure aggregate use, or keep the site secure.
Business purposes and disclosure
We use personal information to operate and secure the site, provide the newsletter you request, respond to messages, understand readership when analytics are enabled, and comply with applicable obligations. We may disclose limited information to service providers that perform those tasks for us, including hosting, email delivery, analytics, and security providers. We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term is used in California privacy law.
Your California privacy rights
Subject to legal limits and verification, California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients. You may request deletion of personal information we collected, ask to correct inaccurate information, or limit certain uses of sensitive information where applicable. You may use an authorized agent, although we may ask for proof of that authority and information needed to verify the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Do Not Sell or Share My Info
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. For that reason, there is no sale or sharing program to opt out of. If our practices change, we will update this notice and provide the required choice mechanism. You can still tell us that you do not want optional communications by using an unsubscribe link or contacting us.
How to submit a request
Use our contact form or email editor@acrepair.ac with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line. Tell us whether you are asking to know, delete, correct, or opt out, and provide the email address or other limited detail that helps us find the record. We may ask for enough information to verify that the request relates to you. New York and NYC consumer protections may also apply to our communications, but this notice is written for California rights.
