Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-08-11

These terms cover your use of acrepair.ac and its newsletters. AC Repair AC is an independent editorial publisher for readers researching air-conditioning repair in New York City. We publish reviews, rankings, guides, and consumer reporting. We do not operate an HVAC company, dispatch technicians, broker leads, take repair bookings, or sell repair services.

Using our editorial work

You may read, link to, and share our pages for personal, lawful use. Our articles are information, not a substitute for inspecting a particular unit, obtaining a written estimate, or consulting a qualified professional. Conditions in a Manhattan co-op, Brooklyn brownstone, Queens apartment, Bronx rental, or Staten Island home can differ from the general situations described in a guide.

Please do not copy large portions of the site, remove author or source credit, use automated means that burden the site, interfere with security, misrepresent an affiliation with us, or use the site unlawfully. If you wish to license or republish material, ask us first.

Editorial independence and third parties

We try to keep our reporting useful and current, but rankings, license information, prices, availability, customer feedback, and laws can change. A company’s presence in an article is not a promise about its future work. Your dealings with a contractor, landlord, manufacturer, building manager, or other third party are between you and that party. Before authorizing home-improvement work in NYC, consider checking the provider’s credentials and any applicable Department of Consumer and Worker Protection requirements yourself.

We may link to third-party sites for context. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. A link is not an endorsement unless we clearly say otherwise.

No warranty; use your judgment

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not make warranties about accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that following a guide will solve a repair issue or meet a building, lease, insurance, code, or safety requirement. Do not delay emergency or safety help based on a page on this site.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, AC Repair AC and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its editorial content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Some consumer protections under New York State or New York City law cannot be waived; these terms do not take them away.

Optional individual arbitration

We do not sell services, so most reader concerns can be resolved by contacting us directly. Where permitted by law, either you or we may choose to resolve a covered dispute through individual binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its applicable consumer rules, rather than in court. This is an option, not a condition of reading the site. A party may still seek relief in small-claims court where eligible, and either party may seek appropriate court relief for intellectual-property misuse or urgent security issues. Class or representative claims are not part of optional individual arbitration to the extent lawful.

New York law and updates

These terms are governed by New York law, without applying conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your residence requires otherwise. Courts with proper jurisdiction in New York County, New York may hear matters that are not arbitrated. We may update these terms by posting a revised effective date.
